When open for business, firearms must be unloaded, inaccessible to the public, and stored in a locked case, behind a locked counter, or secured with hardened steel rod/cable unless under direct employee supervision.

Ammunition must be stored inaccessibly to the public in locked cases or behind locked counters when the dealer is open for business.

Licensed dealers must install and maintain an alarm system audible from 500 feet and a video surveillance system with cameras monitoring all critical areas, operating continuously while open and motion-triggered when closed, with footage retained for at least 1 year.

Violations constitute a state civil infraction with a fine of up to $1,000, and video surveillance systems must be repaired or replaced within 14 calendar days if inoperable.
