Requires electronic videorecording of all interviews conducted at accredited or accreditable child assessment centers, except when good cause exists such as equipment inoperability or exigent circumstances.

Recording must capture the entire interview from beginning to end without interruption.

Custodians of videorecorded statements must allow access to and retain recordings according to procedures outlined in MCL 600.2163a of the Revised Judicature Act of 1961.

Failure to record an interview does not prevent forensic interviewers, the interviewed individual, or other witnesses from testifying in court if the testimony is otherwise admissible.

Takes effect 180 days after enactment, contingent upon passage of companion bills SB 1128'22, SB 1129'22, HB 6290'22, and HB 6291'22.
