Allows child care staff members at school-operated child care centers to waive the criminal history check under the child care licensing law if they underwent a criminal history check under the school code within the past 2 years and remain continuously employed with a school.

Requires the department to still perform database reviews and searches through the national sex offender registry and state criminal registries for school-based child care staff members, even if the criminal history check is waived.

Applies the waiver only to individuals who have remained employed with a school with no separation from service.

Defines "school" as a public school or nonpublic school as defined in the revised school code (MCL 380.5).

Makes technical corrections throughout the statute by replacing "shall" with "must" and changing "and" to "or" in various provisions related to ineligibility determinations.
