Honors the memory of Woodrow Stanley, former Michigan House member from the Thirty-fourth District (Flint and Genesee County) who served from 2009 to 2014.

Stanley was born in Mississippi in 1950, earned degrees from Mott Community College and University of Michigan-Flint, and held positions as Flint City Council member (beginning 1983), Flint Mayor (1991 for over a decade), and Genesee County Board of Commissioners member (two terms starting 2004).

Served as vice chair of House committees on New Economy and Quality of Life and Local, Intergovernmental, and Regional Affairs, and as First Vice Chairperson of the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus.

Held membership on eight additional House committees including committees on Public Employee Health Care Reform, Regulatory Reform, Urban Policy, and Banking and Financial Services.

Directs that copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Stanley family as a tribute to his legacy as a dedicated public servant and advocate for his constituents.
