Urges the Michigan Legislature to provide all state employees $2,000 in Public Employee Recognition Pay for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Acknowledges state employees' increased workload and resilience during the pandemic, including health risks and expanded responsibilities due to staffing shortages.

Specifically recognizes DHHS microbiologists and laboratory scientists who worked 12-15 hour days processing COVID-19 tests, and MDOT Technical Unit Workers who maintained critical infrastructure despite PPE shortages.

States that hazard pay is warranted to recognize sacrifices made during the pandemic and to improve employee recruitment and retention efforts.

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the Speaker and Minority Leader of the Michigan House of Representatives and the Majority and Minority Leaders of the Michigan Senate.
