• Requires each child care center to develop a drinking water management plan within 1 year specifying locations of filtered bottle-filling stations, filtered faucets, filtered pitchers, unfiltered outlets, water delivery services, and outlets to be shut off.

• Mandates child care centers ensure all water furnished to children for human consumption comes from filtered sources meeting NSF/ANSI standards 53 and 42, or from approved water delivery services, within 2 years of the effective date.

• Establishes water testing requirements with local health departments or the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs conducting inspections at least every 2 years, including lead testing of filtered outlets with a 5 parts per billion threshold requiring remediation plans.

• Requires child care centers to post conspicuous signs indicating whether water outlets are intended for human consumption and warning if unfiltered water could contain lead.

• Directs the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to provide templates, guidance documents, and staff training on filter installation, maintenance, and water sampling protocols; exempts centers in school buildings complying with the clean drinking water access act.
