Department of Education shall develop age-appropriate informational material on sexual assault and sexual harassment by June 1, 2023, in consultation with sexual assault experts and Michigan domestic violence prevention organizations.

School districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies must distribute the state-developed materials to all students in grades 6-12, including information on what constitutes sexual assault/harassment, that it is not the victim's fault, and available resources including Title IX information.

Schools must provide students and parents/guardians with Title IX coordinator contact information and school policies on sexual assault and harassment, including policies prohibiting retaliation for reporting, in student handbooks and on school websites where applicable.

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, schools are encouraged to provide all educators and school personnel training at least every 5 years on responding to students who have experienced sexual assault or harassment, partnering with local domestic violence organizations or the state board.

Effective 90 days after enactment into law.
