Replaces references to "pistol" with "firearm" throughout MCL 750.223 and MCL 750.232a to expand the scope of weapons regulations.

Maintains existing penalties for unlawful firearm sales (up to 90 days imprisonment or $100 fine for basic violations) and false statements on firearm purchase applications (up to 4 years imprisonment or $2,000 fine).

Retains affirmative defense allowing sellers to rely on state-issued identification showing purchaser is 18 years or older when selling firearms over 26 inches in length.

Removes definition of "licensed dealer" from section 223(5).

Takes effect only if Senate Bill No. 454 of the 101st Legislature is enacted into law.
