Prohibits employers from refusing to hire individuals or rejecting applicants based on credit history, and from inquiring about job applicants' credit history.

Exempts positions at financial institutions (banks, savings and loans, credit unions and their affiliates), occupational code licensees, and casinos where good credit history is a bona fide occupational requirement.

Prohibits retaliation or discrimination against individuals who testify, assist, participate in investigations, or oppose violations of this act.

Voids any employer requirement that applicants waive or limit protections under this act as a condition of employment.

Allows individuals injured by violations to bring civil actions for damages or injunctive relief, with courts awarding costs and reasonable attorney fees to prevailing plaintiffs.
