Commission must issue a report to legislative committees on education and school safety within 180 days of the bill's effective date.

Report must evaluate and itemize factors that can mitigate acts of school violence, including communication methods, collaboration strategies, and technology use for identifying pre-incident indicators.

Pre-incident indicators include statements made, social media posts, artwork or drawings, and behavioral indicators that may warn of future school violence.

Report must list action items the Department of State Police should take in cooperation with the Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Education to prevent school violence before it occurs.

If the legislature appropriates funding to the department for school violence prevention, the department must comply with the appropriation requirements and use funding to mitigate acts of school violence before they occur.
