Requires school districts and public school academies to include age- and grade-appropriate instruction about the Holodomor Genocide in social studies curriculum for grades 8-12, effective beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, in addition to existing requirements for Holocaust and Armenian Genocide instruction.

Recommends a combined total of 6 hours of genocide instruction during grades 8-12 and permits instruction to be provided in other subject areas beyond social studies.

Eliminates the temporary Governor's Council on Genocide and Holocaust Education that was established in prior law, including all its advisory duties and reporting requirements.

Updates state board model core academic curriculum content standards to include learning objectives concerning the Holodomor Genocide and requires alignment with Michigan merit examination social studies components.

Makes technical amendments throughout the revised school code, replacing "shall" with "must" and updating terminology and statutory references for clarity.
