Creates a new "section 1278f" referenced throughout for alternative graduation pathways, applicable to pupils entering grade 8 in 2022 or later, while restricting personal curriculum modifications to pupils who entered grade 8 before 2022.

Modifies personal curriculum provisions to require students pursuing modifications of Michigan merit standard requirements to complete additional credits in English language arts, mathematics, science, language other than English, or state-approved career and technical education programs as substitutes.

Changes "shall" to "must" throughout the statute for mandatory language consistency and updates references to align with new section 1278f provisions for different graduation pathway requirements.

Expands disability accommodations by shifting modification determinations from the personal curriculum development group to the pupil's parent/guardian and individualized education program team for children with disabilities.

Requires annual notification to all pupils and parents that they are entitled to a personal curriculum, including explanation of what it is and that requests will be granted if submitted.
