Amends Michigan's mechanic lien law (1846 RS 126) to add a new section 37a establishing procedures for selling abandoned animals held by a person or local government.

Allows a person holding an abandoned animal to sell the animal at public sale after possessing it for 60 days without payment or legal action, compared to the 9-month period required for other property under section 37.

Requires 30 days' notice by registered mail to the animal's owner before sale, with proceeds applied first to payment of care charges and expenses, then remaining balance paid to the city or township clerk for the owner's benefit.

Defines "abandoned" to mean an animal not picked up at the agreed time or paid for after being delivered under section 35, left in local government care, or found and taken in by local government.

Applies to horses, mules, cattle, sheep, and swine held by individuals, firms, partnerships, associations, corporations, or local governments.
