Modifies the process for county officials (other than county clerk or prosecuting attorney) to resign by requiring written notice with an effective date filed to the presiding/senior judge of probate, county clerk, and prosecuting attorney

Adds requirement for officials in charter counties or counties with elected county executives to also file resignation notices with the county executive and county board chairperson

Changes vacancy-filling procedures for county offices in charter counties and those with elected county executives by including the county executive and board chairperson in the appointment process alongside existing officials

Maintains existing provisions that appointed successors hold office until the next general November election if the vacancy occurs more than 7 days before the nominating petition filing deadline

Updates terminology throughout from "person" and "he" to "individual" for gender-neutral language
