Documents that Rosen Rye was introduced to Michigan Agricultural College from Russia in 1909 and by 1920 made Michigan the nation's largest rye producer.

Recognizes South Manitou Island farmers (George and Louis Hutzler and Irvin Beck) who protected Rosen Rye's genetic purity across all seven island farms and earned international awards, becoming known as "Rye Kings."

Honors the revival of historic Rosen Rye cultivation by Mammoth Distilling using seeds from the USDA Seed Bank and partnerships with Michigan State University and descendant families.
