Honors Senator Jim Stamas upon the conclusion of his tenure in the Michigan Senate, representing the Thirty-sixth District comprising Alcona, Alpena, Arenac, Gladwin, Iosco, Midland, Montmorency, Oscoda, Otsego, and Presque Isle counties.

Recognizes Stamas' military service in the U.S. Army and Michigan National Guard (rank Specialist E-4) and his prior work in business, including ownership of Pizza Sam's and roles on various community boards and local government positions from 1997 to 2008.

Commends his service in the Michigan House of Representatives starting in 2009, where he was twice elected Majority Floor Leader, and his election to the Michigan Senate in 2014.

Acknowledges his leadership as chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee during the pandemic, chair of the General Government subcommittee, and co-chair of the Joint Select Committee on the Flint Water Public Health Emergency, as well as his work on Midland flooding relief and Capitol preservation.

Adopted by the Senate on December 7, 2022, expressing gratitude for Stamas' contributions to the legislative body.
