MI HB4340

Adds definitions to child care licensing law for drinking water infrastructure including "filtered bottle-filling station," "filtered faucet," "filtered pitcher," "drinking fountain," "faucet," and "water delivery service."

Requires each child care center to develop a drinking water management plan within 1 year specifying locations for filtered bottle-filling stations, filtered faucets, filtered pitchers, unfiltered fountains/faucets, and water delivery service sources.

Mandates local health departments or the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs conduct water inspections at each child care center at least every 2 years, testing all filtered stations and faucets for lead concentration above 5 parts per billion.

Requires child care centers to develop remediation plans if testing detects lead above 5 parts per billion and to maintain filter cartridges according to manufacturer instructions or department recommendations.

Ties effectiveness to passage of House Bill 4341 and House Bill 4342 in the 102nd Legislature.
