Changes mandatory language from "shall" to "must" throughout section 165 regarding non-payment of spousal or child support orders.

Replaces the detailed bond-setting process with a reference to section 6 of chapter V of the Michigan Code of Criminal Procedure (MCL 765.6) for determining cash bond amounts and law enforcement information network entry procedures.

Removes the specific provision allowing courts to set cash bonds up to 100% of arrearage plus court costs under the Support and Parenting Time Enforcement Act.

Maintains existing requirements that individuals arrested for support non-payment deposit a cash bond of not less than $500 or 25% of arrearage (whichever is greater) to avoid remaining in custody until arraignment.

Takes effect January 1, 2025, contingent upon enactment of Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 4655.
