Prohibits evidence regarding discovery, knowledge, or potential disclosure of an individual's actual or perceived sex, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation from being used to demonstrate reasonable provocation in criminal proceedings.

Prohibits such evidence from being used to show that an act was committed in heat of passion or to support a defense of reduced mental capacity under existing law.

Establishes that an individual is not justified in using force against another based on discovery of, knowledge about, or potential disclosure of the victim's sex, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation.

Takes effect on the 91st day after final adjournment of the 2024 Regular Session (sine die).

Approved by the Governor on July 23, 2024, and filed with the Secretary of State the same day.
