Amends section 429 of the Mental Health Code to include section 434 among the circumstances under which a hospital must receive and detain an individual for examination.

Hospital designated under section 422 must examine an individual within 24 hours by a physician or licensed psychologist unless a clinical certificate has already been presented.

Individual must be released immediately if the examining physician or psychologist does not certify that the person requires treatment.

Preadmission screening unit examinations under sections 409, 410, or 427 must be completed within 2 hours of arrival, unless documented medical reasons or other arrangements agreed upon by peace officer or security transport officer prevent completion within that timeframe.
