Upon guest request before checkout, hotel staff must inspect the room in the guest's presence and provide written notice of whether smoking fees will be assessed

Written checkout notices must be signed and dated by hotel staff and include the statement "Room has been cleared and no smoking charges will be assessed" if no fees apply
