• Allows these expanded healthcare professionals to participate in involuntary mental health treatment proceedings, including examinations required before court hearings and authorization of restraints and seclusion under specified conditions.

• Makes conforming changes throughout the Mental Health Code to replace references to specific healthcare provider types with broader language that includes the newly authorized professionals.

• Takes effect 90 days after enactment.
