Department of Education must develop or adopt a model presentation on organ, eye, and tissue donation and transplantation programs by January 1, 2025, in consultation with the state's federally designated organ procurement organization.

Model presentation must not exceed one class period and include information about the Michigan organ donor registry.

School districts and public school academies are encouraged to provide the presentation to students before completion of grade 9, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.

Students may be excused from the presentation without penalty upon written request from a parent or legal guardian.
