Allows county retirants to be employed by the county sheriff's office without suspending their retirement benefits, removing the previous 1,000-hour annual limit restriction for this specific employment.

Changes language in subsection (28)(b)(i)(A) to permit retirants employed "including, but not limited to, the county sheriff's office" to continue receiving pension or retirement benefits without change in amount or conditions.

Maintains all other requirements for continued benefits, including that retirants receive no additional county benefits beyond those required by law and do not accrue additional retirement credits during reemployment.

Applies to county employees covered by retirement plans established under the county board of commissioners' authority under 1851 PA 156, section 12a.

Subject to compliance with the protecting local government retirement and benefits act, 2017 PA 202 (MCL 38.2801 to 38.2812).
