Requires the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to make campground, shelter, cabin, yurt, and lodge reservations in state parks available to Michigan residents for at least 2 weeks before offering them to nonresidents.

Applies the same 2-week resident preference requirement to reservations at state forest campgrounds, shelters, cabins, yurts, and lodges.

Requires the department to provide written notice to standing committees of the Senate and House with primary responsibility for natural resources legislation at least 6 months before increasing state forest camping permit fees.

Clarifies that the department shall not require permits or fees for use of state forest nonmotorized trails, pathways, or campground facilities, except for camping permits established under existing law.
