• Renames the school safety commission to the "school safety and mental health commission" effective January 1, 2025, expanding its focus to include mental health alongside school safety.

• Establishes a 12-member voting commission appointed by the governor from lists submitted by legislative leaders, including representatives with expertise in school mental health, law enforcement, special education, school psychology, behavioral health, teaching, youth organizations, school administration, threat assessment, and inpatient treatment.
