Violations of section 1 or 2a of the riots act become felonies punishable by not less than 5 years imprisonment or more than life, or a fine of not more than $10,000, or both

Violations of section 2 become felonies requiring mandatory imprisonment for not less than 10 years or more than life

Violations of section 3 remain felonies punishable by not more than 5 years imprisonment or a fine of not more than $5,000, or both

Removes section 2 violations from the sentencing provisions in subsection (1) and creates separate mandatory sentencing requirements in new subsection (2)

Takes effect 90 days after enactment
