Allows a member of a limited liability company to represent the company in summary proceedings (evictions) if the member has direct and personal knowledge of the facts alleged in the complaint.

Applies only to single-member LLCs where the member is an individual, or two-member LLCs where both members are married individuals.

Requires two-member married LLCs to file a verified statement signed by both members authorizing the representation, with the original filed in court before the hearing.

Does not apply to two-member LLCs if a divorce or separate maintenance action is pending between the members or if a judgment for separate maintenance has been entered.

Clarifies that such representation by a member does not violate section 916 (prohibitions on unauthorized practice of law), and the party seeking this representation bears the burden of proving eligibility.
