Allows signing and witnessing of wills, disclaimers, funeral designations, guardianship appointments, durable powers of attorney, and patient advocate designations using 2-way real-time audiovisual technology if all specified requirements are met.

Requires the signatory and witnesses to interact via audiovisual technology with direct sight and sound communication, with the interaction recorded and preserved for at least 3 years.

Requires the signatory to affirm they are physically in Michigan or, if outside the state, that the document relates to a Michigan court/governmental entity or involves Michigan property or transactions.

Mandates transmission of a legible signed copy to witnesses within 72 hours, with witnesses required to sign and return the copy within 72 hours of receipt.

Eliminates the sunset date (July 1, 2021) for this remote witnessing provision, making it permanent rather than temporary emergency authorization.
