Health plans and nonprofit dental care corporations providing dental benefits must offer one or more payment methods that deliver 100% of the payable amount to dentists without requiring fees to access payment, excluding fees imposed by the dentist's financial institution

Dentists who opt out of a payment method under this requirement have that decision remain in effect until they opt back in or execute a new contract

"Health plan" is defined according to section 2006 of the Insurance Code

Applies to dental benefits policies delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in Michigan after the effective date of this amendatory act
