Amends the Revised School Code to allow public school academies, urban high school academies, and schools of excellence to use alternative state-administered assessment systems under section 104d of the state school aid act of 1979, in addition to or instead of M-STEP for measuring student academic achievement.

Modifies sections 502, 503, 522, and 552 to permit charter schools participating in pilot programs under section 104d to satisfy educational goals and accountability requirements using the pilot assessment system rather than being limited to M-STEP or Michigan Merit Examination.

Updates section 1279g regarding the Michigan Merit Examination to include references to state-administered assessment systems under section 104d of the state school aid act of 1979 alongside existing assessment options.

Makes technical corrections throughout the statute, including changes to pronoun references and minor wording updates (e.g., replacing "shall" with "must" and "he or she" with "the superintendent of public instruction").

Takes effect only if Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 5991 (request no. 06555'24) of the 102nd Legislature is enacted into law.
