Prohibits insurers from considering a dog's breed or mixture of breeds when making decisions about residential property liability insurance policies, including cancellation, coverage refusal, premium increases, non-renewal, or exclusions.

Bans insurers from asking about, inquiring about, or investigating the specific breed or mixture of breeds of dogs at an insured property.

Allows insurers to refuse coverage, cancel policies, or increase rates based on sound underwriting and actuarial principles unrelated to dog breed.

Applies to residential property liability insurance for houses, condominiums, cooperatives, apartments, rooms, and commercial multiple-unit dwellings.

Takes effect January 1, 2025, for policies issued or renewed on or after the effective date.
