• Requires sex education and communicable disease instruction to be medically accurate, age appropriate, developmentally appropriate, objective, evidence-informed, trauma-informed, and skills-based, removing language promoting abstinence-only messaging.

• Replaces references to "dangerous communicable diseases" and "family planning" with "sexually transmitted infections" and "sexual and reproductive health care" throughout the curriculum standards.

• Mandates that sex education instruction include comprehensive topics including body autonomy, puberty, sexual identity, healthy relationships, consent, contraception, pregnancy options, and resources for sexual and reproductive health services.

• Establishes requirements for sex education advisory boards with at least 50% parents of enrolled students and at least 2 student members to oversee curriculum review, program goals, and evaluation every 2 years.

• Requires school districts providing sex education to ensure materials are inclusive of various sexual orientations and gender identities and do not promote discriminatory bias based on protected statuses, and repeals the previous definition of "family planning" provisions.
