Owner or operator of a senior living facility must provide training in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (AED) use to employees and interested residents, taught by American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent department-approved organization, beginning 1 year after the effective date.

Senior living facilities must have an AED available on premises deployed in an obvious and readily accessible manner to employees, residents, and guests.

Applies to adult foster care facilities, homes for the aged, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and independent living facilities.

Violation of this act constitutes a state civil infraction with a civil fine of not more than $500.00.
