Eliminates age limits for medical assistance program coverage of diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders starting on the bill's effective date.

Requires the department to provide medical assistance coverage for individuals 21 years of age or older with autism spectrum disorders within 180 days of the effective date.

Department must apply for amendments to Michigan's Medicaid state plan and seek federal approval if necessary to implement the expanded coverage.

Defines "autism spectrum disorders" as autistic disorder, Asperger's disorder, or pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified per the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.

Defines "diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders" as assessments, evaluations, or tests performed by licensed physicians or psychologists to diagnose autism spectrum disorders, including the autism diagnostic observation schedule.
