Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy must notify private drinking water well owners within 30 days if PFAS is detected above EPA or state maximum contaminant levels, providing advice on water use, information on obtaining free NSF certified water filters from local health departments, and educational materials on PFAS health risks.

Property owners within a 1-mile radius of a contaminated well must receive notice within 30 days stating that nearby testing detected PFAS above safe levels, including information on how to test their own wells and guidance on reducing PFAS exposure.

Local health departments shall provide free PFAS NSF certified water filters to any private well owner who received a notice of PFAS contamination under the bill.

Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy must create a voluntary registry allowing individuals to receive email notifications when PFAS testing occurs, including testing location, date, and reason for testing.
