Amends MCL 257.676a to allow the state transportation department to install, operate, and maintain electric vehicle charging ports on limited access highway rest areas, welcome centers, and state park-and-ride sites without requiring municipal authorization.

Exempts electric vehicle charging port installations from the requirement that municipalities pass a resolution authorizing the activities or agree to enforce permit compliance.

Directs revenue received by the state transportation department from electric vehicle charging port permits to be deposited into the state trunk line fund established under MCL 247.661.

Makes minor technical edits throughout the statute, including changing "who" to "that," "within" to "in," "shall" to "must," and updating references to federal guidance documents with proper capitalization.

Takes effect only if both HB 6177 and HB 6178 are enacted into law in the 102nd Legislature.
