Expands mandatory child abuse and neglect reporting requirements to include "school employee or individual who is assigned to regularly and continuously work under contract at a school," in addition to existing categories of school administrators, counselors, and teachers.

Defines "regularly and continuously work under contract" by reference to section 1230 of the Revised School Code (1976 PA 451, MCL 380.1230).

Updates statutory language throughout Section 3 by replacing "shall" with "must" and "his or her" with "the reporting person's" for consistency and clarity.

Requires oral reports of suspected child abuse or neglect be made immediately to centralized intake by telephone or online reporting system, with written reports filed within 72 hours.

Maintains existing protections prohibiting dismissal or penalty for staff members of hospitals, agencies, or schools who make required reports or cooperate in investigations.
