Amends the definition of "animal control shelter" and "animal protection shelter" in Michigan's animal fighting statute to require these facilities be licensed with the department of agriculture and rural development under section 4 of 1969 PA 287.

Updates outdated pronouns throughout section 49 (MCL 750.49) from "him or her" and "his or her" to "the person" and "the person's" for gender-neutral language.

Changes procedural language in multiple subsections from "within" to "not later than" and from "afforded" to "given" for clearer statutory language regarding notice periods and attorney examination of seized money.

Takes effect only upon enactment of Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. ____ (request no. 06071'24) of the 102nd Legislature.
