Memorial resolution honoring Mary Ellen Parrott, former House member representing the Twenty-Sixth District (Macomb, Shelby, and Washington Townships; cities of Utica and Sterling Heights) from 1983 to 1984

Parrott served as Shelby Township Treasurer from 1976 to 1980 and was active in environmental advocacy, sponsoring bills to protect the Great Lakes, combat air pollution, and protect water quality

Following her House service, Parrott held positions in the Department of Mental Health and administered the Leaking Underground Storage Tank Program to protect groundwater from petroleum pollution

Served as tenth president of Women in Michigan State Government from 1989 to 1990 and later became an active leader in lake management and fish stocking with the Sage Lake Association

Survived by her husband of 57 years William Parrott, two children, and one grandson; resolution to be transmitted to the Parrott family
