House Resolution honoring Representative Abraham Aiyash for his four years of service representing the Fourth and Ninth Districts in Hamtramck and Detroit's Eastside and Downtown neighborhoods.

Aiyash graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University with a degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy and cofounded the Halimah Project, a nonprofit mentoring young refugees, before his 2020 election.

Served as Assistant Democratic Floor Leader and then Majority Floor Leader, becoming the first Muslim in House majority leadership, while also serving on committees for Commerce and Tourism, Agriculture, Families and Children, Natural Resources, and Communications and Technology.

House commends Aiyash for his diligent work, leadership contributions to the Legislative Council, and service managing legislation in the House of Representatives.

Copies of the resolution to be transmitted to Representative Aiyash and his family as recognition of his contributions to his district, the House chamber, and the state of Michigan.
