Requires the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy to submit an annual report to the legislature by March 1 regarding its asbestos program for renovations and demolitions under National Emission Standard for Asbestos regulations.

Report must include for the previous calendar year: the number of inspectors employed, number of inspections conducted, percentage of original notices of intention inspected, and number of enforcement actions taken.

Requires the department to evaluate whether it has a sufficient number of inspectors based on a minimum 15% inspection rate of original notices of intention received during the calendar year.

Report must be posted on the department's website and published in the Michigan Register, and may be combined with the report required under section 5522.

Takes effect January 31, 2025, contingent on enactment of House Bill No. 4188 of the 102nd Legislature.
