Tents occupied or furnished for public assembly by 50 or more people must meet fire resistance requirements of at least 1 standard specified in the act.

Tents used for animal stabling for public exhibition or sale, and tents located within buildings used by the public, must meet the same fire resistance requirements.

All tarpaulins and decorative materials used in connection with qualifying tents must meet fire resistance requirements.

Only NFPA 701 (2023) standard for flame propagation of textiles and films, or an equivalent standard determined by the bureau through rules, may be used to meet fire resistance requirements.

Safety nets and tents used for recreational camping are exempt from these fire resistance requirements; the act takes effect 90 days after enactment.
