Amends the Michigan School Code to require school districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies to implement compensation methods for teachers and school administrators that include job performance and accomplishments as a significant factor

Requires the assessment of job performance to incorporate a rigorous, transparent, and fair evaluation system that evaluates performance at least partly based on student growth data measured by assessments and other objective criteria

Exempts school districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies from these requirements if a collective bargaining agreement in effect as of January 4, 2010 prevents compliance, until that agreement expires

Effective immediately upon approval (July 27, 2023)
