Replaces references to "commissioner" with "director" in insurance code section 2434 regarding malpractice insurance rating classifications for physicians.

Removes requirement for commissioner to furnish rating classifications to legislature and governor within one year of the effective date of chapter 49.

Requires insurers offering medical malpractice insurance policies to annually provide the department with information about their perinatal care services policies on a schedule determined by the department.

Mandates the department submit insurer information on perinatal care policies to the Department of Health and Human Services within 60 days of receipt for purposes of a study required under MCL 333.2617b.

Takes effect only if Senate Bill No. 818 of the 102nd Legislature is enacted into law.
