Updates the reference to the Identity Theft Protection Act in MCL 8.9 from MCL 445.61 to 445.79c to MCL 445.61 to 445.80c, reflecting changes made to that statute.

Makes minor language updates replacing "he or she" with "the defendant" or "the person's" and "shall" with "must" for gender-neutral and modern statutory language.

Does not take effect unless Senate Bill No. 888 of the 102nd Legislature is enacted into law.
