Petition circulators must either point out where the summary of the proposed amendment or question is located on the petition and allow the individual to read it, or read the summary aloud to the individual before obtaining their signature.

Petition sponsors are subject to civil fines of up to $1,500 or $50 per violation, whichever is greater, if the circulator fails to comply with the summary requirement.

Applies to petitions under section 482 of Michigan election law.
