Creates a cultural history advisory board within the Michigan Department of Education to develop curriculum and professional development resources on diverse cultural histories.

Board consists of 21 members appointed by the superintendent of public instruction, including representatives from Asian-American, Pacific Islander, Latino, Hispanic, African-American, Arab-American, North African, Chaldean, Indigenous, Caribbean-American, and Jewish-American communities; K-12 educators; school administrators; department staff; teacher union representatives; and higher education institutions.

Members serve 2-year terms and must be appointed within 1 year of the bill's effective date; board meets at least quarterly and members receive per diem compensation determined by the department.

Board must provide recommendations within 2 years of full appointment for a K-12 curriculum toolkit and professional development on cultural competency for teaching history related to the specified cultural groups.

Board shall hold public meetings and collaborate with local institutions, community organizations, tribes, cultural historians, scholars, museums, and universities to develop curriculum materials for each cultural group represented on the board.
