Designates May 22, 2024, as Cherry Industry Day in Michigan to celebrate the state's cherry industry and heritage.

Recognizes Michigan as the number one cherry-producing state in the nation and the unofficial "Cherry Capitol of the World," producing approximately 250 million pounds of tart cherries annually with 75 percent of U.S. tart cherry production.

Acknowledges the National Cherry Festival held each July in Traverse City, Michigan, which attracts more than 500,000 visitors and evolved from the first "Blessing of the Blossoms Festival" held on May 22, 1926.

Highlights health benefits of cherries, including powerful antioxidants, melatonin, vitamin A, and beta-carotene that may help combat cancer, heart disease, arthritis pain, and age-related brain deterioration.

Notes the Cherry Marketing Institute, formed in 1988 and funded by U.S. tart cherry growers, works to increase cherry consumption through promotion, market expansion, and product development.
