Michigan would join the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact, allowing physical therapists and physical therapist assistants licensed in member states to practice across state lines without obtaining separate licenses in each state

Licensees seeking compact privileges must hold an unencumbered home state license, have no adverse actions within the previous 2 years, pay applicable fees, and meet jurisprudence requirements of remote states

The compact establishes the Physical Therapy Compact Commission, a joint public agency with one delegate per member state, empowered to promulgate binding rules, maintain a coordinated data system of licensure and disciplinary information, and enforce compliance

Active duty military personnel and their spouses may designate their home of record, permanent change of station location, or current residence as their home state for compact purposes

The act takes effect 18 months after enactment and is contingent on Senate Bill No. 501 also being enacted into law
